DESCRIPTION
Lightning Slim, born Otis V. Hicks in 1913, was a blues musician from Louisiana, United States. He was primarily known for his electric guitar work and his distinctive singing style. His music is often associated with the Louisiana blues scene and he was a contemporary of other blues legends such as Slim Harpo and Lazy Lester.
"That's All Right" is one of Lightning Slim's notable albums. It was originally released in 1972 on the Arhoolie Records label. The album features a collection of his recordings from the late 1950s and early 1960s. The title track, "That's All Right," is one of his most well-known songs and showcases his raw, electrifying blues style.
The album captures Lightning Slim's unique approach to the blues, characterized by his gritty vocals, electrifying guitar playing, and lyrics that often reflect the struggles and experiences of African Americans in the rural South during the mid-20th century. His music often explored themes of love, loss, and the hardships of everyday life.
