Back To Where It All Began
Rockaway started with a simple love of music between husband and wife team, Scott and Glenyce — and a dream to build something more than just a shop.
Inspired by Scott’s brothers, who founded Rockaway Records Los Angeles 46 years ago, we opened our doors in 1992, and we’ve been proudly independent ever since. Rockaway has always been about people first — community, stories, and connection — with the music at the heart of it all.
Scott & Glenyce
Y'all know him as the man in the hat. Scott created Rockaway Records with Glenyce over 33 years ago and he is the man in the know when it comes to cool and rare finds.
When Scott isn't being driven crazy by the team, he can be found listening to Led Zeppelin and soaking in the pool. Famous lines include "I'll let you fix that for me" and "Someone get that phone"
As co-founder of Rockaway with Scott, Glenyce is the much loved back-bone of the business. When she is not busy with customer orders you will find her listening to country music and spending time with family.
The Brick & Mortar

Rockaway Records was born in Los Angeles, founded by Scott’s brother's in the 1970s. What began as a passion for vinyl and collectables quickly grew into one of the most respected and iconic record stores in the U.S. Known for its rare finds and deep roots in the music scene, Rockaway Records LA has become a true institution for collectors and fans alike—helping inspire the Brisbane store you know and love today.
